I consider Japan to be my second home, though I haven’t been there in a while. I am sure you’re going to have a great time and I am also sure you are going to see things you never thought you would see.

Favorite part…tough question. I loved places like Kyoto and Koyasan. I thought Kamakura was great too. If I truly loved Miyajima and thought Kamakura was amazing.
However, the places that really strike me are the “other” ones. I loved my local okonomiyaki shop. I remember the view of the mountains from my apartment. I remember a particular red brick apartment on the Nankai Koya line as it headed into Namba station.
I have fantastic memories of a cool record shop in Namba that had a whole host of bootleg recordings (star records–doubtless it is gone now). I remember having Haagen-Dazs ice cream at the rocket in Namba….I will miss the deer at Nara Koen…..
Basically, I miss Japan.

That sounds like an amazing experience. We agree that the best experience, the things that we miss most, are the little things. Thank you for sharing.
We hope that you will have the chance to visit Japan again sometime soon.
